About Us
I am not a babysitter. I am an extension of you. I am a loving mother. I am role model. I am the person that your child will be staying with for many hours. My role and position in your child’s life is to pass along lessons, not only regarding subject matter, but lessons on life. You should be confident about the person that is going to be with your little one, you should also feel good about where your child is going to be spending time. I am located in a quiet, safe neighborhood, surrounded by beautiful nature trails and walking distance to some great parks! When weather permits I like to frequent the park and take little nature walks. Nature is important to children’s development in every major way—intellectually, emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically (Kellert, 2005). Studies have shown nature, supports creativity and problem solving, improves eyesight, improves social relations, improves self-discipline, and access to green spaces, and even a view of green settings enhances peace, self-control and self-discipline (Taylor, Kuo and Sullivan, 2001). Nature, green plants and vistas reduce stress among highly stressed children. Locations with greater number of plants, greener views, and access to natural play areas show more significant results (Wells and Evans, 2003). I believe in learning through play at an early age builds self-confidence and maturity, encourages growth to try new experiences, strengthens motor skills, develops great social skills, and cognitive skills. I am Waldorf inspired. I serve healthy and as much organic products that I can. Your little one will get breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. For birthdays and special occasions I serve sweets made by me that are healthier than most, like my chocolate sweet potato cake. I will work with your picky eater, some kids just need more time with certain foods. I will guide your children in the basics of manners and etiquette. Good manners can mean the difference between success and failure in many aspects of life. What your child will experience when they become a PuddleDuck, supervised outdoor play and explorations, singing, games, storytelling, painting, coloring, sewing, cleaning, baking, gardening, collecting natural items learning about them, and seasonal crafts. By learning through play, and through participating in activities which are part of life, children develop listening skills, fine motor skills, social skills, concentration, and other skills necessary for academic success. But more importantly, they develop a love of learning, an appreciation of beauty, and a strong connection to the world in which we live. Lic#343620762
