JB Medical Wellness Clinic Values its patients and their health. We strive to help our patients lose weight in a safe and healthy manner. To help our patients reach their weight loss goals, we combine a healthy diet; exercise advice, as appropriate; and prescription appetite suppressant medication. The appetite suppressants are in a class of medications called stimulants. These medications have been prescribed for short-term medical weight loss for many decades and are considered relatively safe for most people. There are however, inherent risks associated with these medications. Certain medical conditions and medications conflict with the use of appetite suppressants. For this reason, it is important that we have accurate and updated information about your health and physical condition before we determine if an appetite suppressant is appropriate for you.

John E. Bakos MD 
John E. Bakos graduated from Ohio State Medical School in Columbus, Ohio in 1962. After completing internship in the intensive care unit at a local Ohio hospital, he entered the US Military for a mandatory 2 years, where he went into public health service on the Crow and Cheyenne Indian reservation in Crow Agency, Montana. As a Captain of the US military, Dr Bakos also spent 3 months to the assigned coast guard temporary duty Ocean Station Victor as the doctor on a ship for the the US Cost Guard in the Pacific Ocean. During that time, he received a medal for performing the first appendectomy at sea since WWII, and ultimately saving the man's life. After his two year completion in the military, Dr Bakos spent the second year of residency at Monterey County Hospital in Salinas, CA. and then took over a retiring private general practice for eight years. Dr. Bakos became a board certified anesthesiologist and in 1974, he moved to the Roseville area and practiced at Roseville Community/Sutter Hospital as an anesthesiologist for 25 years.

Dr. Bakos is currently the owner of JB Medical Wellness Clinic in Folsom, California. He also works in Marysville as an anesthesiologist at the Twin Cities Surgery Center several times a month.

Dr Bakos and his wife, BettyAnn raised 6 kids on a farm near Lincoln, California where they still reside. Dr. Bakos has his twin engine pilot's license and many hobbies that include gardening, following the stock market and is active in his church.

John T. Bakos, MD, PhD 
John Bakos has been a physician since 1992, graduating with his Medical Doctor Degree from University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he further went on to complete his PhD in cell biology & biochemistry. He finished his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in internal medicine and pediatrics in 1996. Dr. Bakos is a diplomat of, and board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Bakos has been recognized by Phi Beta Kappa: Medical Honor Society, among other societies. He also has several publications & awards to his name and continues to contribute his knowledge to the field of medicine. 

Dr. Bakos is currently the medical director of JB Medical Wellness Clinic in Folsom, California and will be heading up the lipid clinic for this medical office.

Dr. Bakos was born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in Sacramento, California. He currently resides in Fair Oaks, California.

Dr. Bakos has two grown children, Alexander and Grace.

His hobbies include chess, violin and gardening.

Dr. Bakos is also fluent in Spanish.
