More importantly, seeing clearly during a learning stage is critical for us to succeed with what we are doing. In life, if you are like me, we are always learning or training for something new. This is particularly important in children. Keeping your eyes healthy and using the proper tools in the correct fashion can optimize your vision, increasing the quality of your work and life. The definition approved by the board of trustees of the American Optometric Association: Doctors of optometry (ODs) are the primary health care professionals for the eye. Optometrists examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures as well as identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye. [b]Care[/b] I provide primary eye care. Which means, if you have a red eye, or itchy eyes, it could mean that you could benefit from some prescription eye drops that you may not be able to find over the counter. Or you may be able to use some over the counter artificial tears that could help. This is part of the information you can get from your eye exam, or medical office visit. If something more serious occurs, such as a sudden decrease in vision or a corneal abrasion that is leaving you in severe pain, you should come to the office immediately for evaluation and treatment. We do everything onsite that most eye doctors office can do, short of surgery. We have a good selection of contact lens trials for fitting, including color lens. A large amount of designer and quality frames to select from. We use only the best quality laboratories for our lense products. We work with the most experienced and caring specialists in town for co-management of Cataracts, Diabetes, Macular Degeneration, and other advanced eye conditions. It's a great benefit to be able to wake up and see after LASIK correction and for most people it is a very safe and relatively simple procedure. However, we are all different, and still, despite its growing popularity, it is not the right choice for everybody. If after the short interview, we determine that you would benefit from the procedure, we can do the pre-testing to determine candidacy at our office, but the surgery would be done at an offsite surgery center located on Sunrise Blvd. The 1 Day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 month post-operational visits would be done at our office for convenience to our local patients.
