Wake the Beast with Hate Primer, Gentlemen of Tragedy, and DJ Bunz

Presented by The Boardwalk. Wake the Beast is a metal trio from Sacramento. Fronted by Sacramento music veteran Sammy Karlin; his voice alone is responsible for millions of streams across streaming platforms. Christin Harlin and Larry Micallef on drums and bass respectively. Currently signed with indie label AshTone Records, Wake The Beast has released a three song EP to get listeners started while they finish their sophomore release in the studio. Sammy has performed Aftershock twice; one performance was the first band at the first year of Aftershock. Followed by heavy FM radio promotion and live performances on the air. The band brings a traditional feel of 80s and 90s heavy metal but with a modern impact that competes with today’s top acts. Gentelmen of Tragedy are rock and punk riffs mixed with a little funk, bouncing groove and moving melodies. The Gentlemen sound brings to mind bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Helmet, Soulfly, Faith No More, Pantera, and Hed (PE), sprinkled with a local flavor influenced by the Deftones and WillHaven. As a band, Gentlemen of Tragedy writes and performs with energy and emotion, staples of the 916 sound; a heavy independent underground that incorporates the diversity of the Sacramento local music scene (rock, punk, hip hop, reggae, and funk have a rich culture in the region) while giving way to soulful hooks and melodies that catch your attention. For over 7 years fans continue to show support and appreciation for their engaging stage presence as much as the actual music.
